Hi, I’m Emma. I’m an Occupational Therapist with seven years of experience, specialising in supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, sensory challenges, autism, and those who have experienced trauma.

I created Phoenix Therapy Norfolk because of my love for working with young people and their families, helping to bring them from places of confusion and frustration to ones of clarity and empowerment.

Holistic Assessments

I take the time to get to know each of the clients I work with, gathering information on various different areas, including history and goals for the future, to get an understanding of what has brought them to me, and how I can help.

From there I am able to design a package of support, or signpost them to a different service if appropriate.

Personalised Support

From gathering the information I need during assessment, I am able to tailor support sessions to meet the needs of each of my clients.

Needs and barriers can change over time, and sessions allow for this.

We regularly review progress and check we are always working to the goals set out at the start, identifying and working on the barriers to those goals.

Working with Families, Carers and Schools

The support network around each young person is just as integral to their wellbeing and functioning as my direct work.

Within every block of support for a young person, I now provide regular consultations with parents as standard, and give parents access to my growing series of 'parenting teens' audios.

Mental health support, stress management and Occupational Therapy services for teens

There are a number of different things which may be getting in the way of a young person's daily activities:

It could be that feelings of worry, sadness or anger, or even just feeling overwhelmed, has started to affect their wellbeing, their education, or their relationships. These feelings could also be leading them to engage in harmful, unsafe behaviours.

It could also be that they have low confidence, or difficulties with concentration. They could have suspected or diagnosed neurodiversity, and/or sensory processing difficulties, and are finding that their associated difficulties are creating barriers
to them doing what they need or want to do.

Perhaps they need help with sleep, or self-care, or help developing coping strategies to better cope with the demands of daily life.

I support with all of these areas and more. My primary focus is always the goals of the young people I work with,
and helping them identify the barriers, to develop the right tools to overcome them.
